Payment Authorization Terms and Conditions
By using the online and mobile payment options, you (hereafter "User," "you" or "your"), with accounts serviced by The Cincinnati Insurance Companies ("CIC")* authorize a one-time credit or debit card payment, a one-time funds transfer (hereafter "Transfer") from a checking or savings account (hereafter "Funding Account"), or a one-time payment using PayPal, PayPal Credit, or Venmo for the purpose of making a payment on the date and in the amount specified by User. The payment or Transfer is directly authorized by User based upon information provided by User.
NOTICE
In order to use these payment options, all Users are required by CIC to adhere to the following Terms and Conditions. Please read the Terms and Conditions carefully. The Terms and Conditions are applicable in addition to the CIC Privacy Policies and Procedures, Website Disclaimers, and any other documents in effect that govern your relationship with CIC.
CIC may amend or change the Terms and Conditions of Use from time to time, at its sole discretion. Please review the Terms and Conditions of Use prior to making any payment or Transfer and prior to updating your account information. By authorizing a payment or Transfer to CIC, you expressly acknowledge and accept the Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions, you must not use the online or mobile payment options.
Prohibited Use: CIC and Paymentus have limited acceptance of payments from third party payers. The Paymentus Technology Platform shall only be used by customers of CIC. Third party commercial payers and/or payment aggregators are expressly prohibited from submitting payments through the Paymentus Technology Platform or otherwise using the Paymentus Technology Platform whether web-based, IVR, or CSR interfaces. By using the Paymentus Technology Platform, you represent and warrant you (“User”) are (i) a customer of a CIC; (ii) paying a bill on your own behalf, or as an employee or relative of a User; and (iii) not using the Paymentus Technology Platform and/or the electronic billing and payment services on behalf of a User under a claim of agency or other third-party relationship, or for commercial gain. You agree that any breach of these warranties constitutes a material breach of this Agreement. CIC reserves the right to reverse any and all payments made from third-party entities, and you agree to: (i) indemnify CIC for interchange fees, merchant fees, as well as all other costs and fees, including internal costs to CIC to research and compile charges by you, incurred in processing a payment transaction in violation of these terms and conditions, and (ii) indemnify CIC for all other damages, costs, fees, expenses, and attorney fees resulting from your breach of this agreement.
USER LIABILITY
If you believe a payment or Transfer was made from your card or other Funding Account without your permission, you are required to contact CIC within two business days after you learn of the unauthorized payment or Transfer. Your failure to notify CIC within this time frame may increase your liability for the unauthorized payment or Transfer.
If, after reviewing your card or Funding Account statement, you discover an unauthorized payment or Transfer, you must notify CIC within 60 days after the statement was mailed to you. Your failure to notify CIC within 60 days may increase your liability to the full amount of the payment or Transfer.

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR TIMELY PAYMENT ON YOUR ACCOUNT, REGARDLESS OF YOUR METHOD OF PAYMENT. IT IS SOLELY YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO MONITOR YOUR ACCOUNT AND YOUR FUNDING ACCOUNT(S) IN ORDER TO ENSURE TIMELY PAYMENT IS MADE.
You agree to participate in the security features of the site and to protect your sensitive information from unauthorized individuals.
TERMINATION OF USE
Your access to the online or mobile payment option may be immediately suspended by CIC if: (1) you do not agree to the Terms and Conditions; (2) your use at any time violates the Terms and Conditions; or (3) your use results in 3 or more payments being returned due to non-sufficient or insufficient funds, cancellation, stop-payment, or any similar designation.
We may restrict your access to the site without notice in certain situations; for example, if you are out of the country.
CONFIDENTIALITY
CIC will disclose to third parties the information you provide about your Funding Account(s), payment(s) or Transfer(s) you authorize and for online or mobile payments under the following circumstances: (1) to support services you have requested, (2) to comply with criminal justice agencies' requests, subpoenas, lawful discovery under federal or state rules of civil and criminal procedure or court orders, and (3) if you give CIC written permission to do so.
DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
CIC will not be liable for any losses or damages you may incur if: (1) you do not have enough money in your Funding Account to make a payment or Transfer; (2) circumstances beyond CIC's control, including but not limited to, natural disaster, flood, earthquake, fire, war, act of terrorism, or acts of third parties in violation of federal, state, or international law, render CIC unable to effectuate the payment or Transfer despite reasonable precautions under the circumstances; or (3) you provide erroneous information to authorize the payment or Transfer.
While CIC has adopted reasonable methods to ensure that you have entered your payment or Funding Account information appropriately, CIC is in no way responsible for your submission of erroneous information and will accept as true and accurate the information you provide. CIC assumes no responsibility for verifying the information you provide if, through no fault of CIC, the financial institution that holds your payment or Funding Account fails to effectuate a payment or Transfer, commits any errors during the payment or Transfer in any form whatsoever, or provides CIC erroneous information.
Completion of a payment or Transfer is contingent upon both authorization by the applicable financial institution and acceptance of your payment or Transfer by CIC.. Except as provided in the Terms and Conditions of Use, CIC will not be responsible for incomplete payments or transfers and will not extend credit under such circumstances.
CIC IS NOT RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, OR OTHER DAMAGE RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE ONLINE OR MOBILE PAYMENT OPTION.
Acceptance of online or mobile payment after a policy has lapsed or expired does not automatically reinstate your policy without a lapse in coverage. Please contact your CIC agent for any additional requirements.
The Terms and Conditions are entered into in the state of Ohio and will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of Ohio.
CIC is under no obligation to provide any online or mobile payment options and may modify or revoke access to or discontinue the service at any time without notice.
REFUNDS
Any overpayment or credit balance on a policy or account may be automatically applied to either current payments due or pending future installments. CIC alternatively reserves the right to refund overpayments by any means deemed necessary or reasonable by CIC, including mailing a check to the address on file or returning the payment to the account on file.
